Dhaka, Nov 09 (V7N)- A cocktail explosion occurred inside St. Joseph’s School in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, early Saturday morning. The incident took place at around 2:30 am near Gate No. 3 of the school, though no one was injured, police said.

According to the school authorities, electricity was out at the time of the explosion. During the blackout, unknown miscreants reportedly hurled a cocktail from outside the gate, which detonated upon impact. The perpetrators could not be identified immediately after the blast.

Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Rafiqul Ahmed confirmed the incident and said that a General Diary (GD) has been filed by the school authorities. “We are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify those involved,” the OC added.

Police visited the scene shortly after the explosion and have strengthened security around the school premises.
