Dhaka, Aug 15 (V7N) – In a bid to bring police services closer to citizens, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has introduced online general diary (GD) facilities in all its police stations, effective from August 10.
According to a press release signed by DMP Media and Public Relations Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman, citizens can now file GDs from home via the Online GD mobile app, available on the Google Play Store. Applicants will receive a GD number and regular updates on their case, similar to in-person submissions.
The system verifies applicants’ registered mobile numbers and national ID cards to ensure privacy and security. DMP believes the initiative will enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in police services while saving citizens’ time.
Both online and traditional in-person GD services will continue in parallel.
