Dhaka, June 30 (V7N) — The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) has arrested nine individuals for allegedly creating a mob to seize “Hotel Milina,” a residential hotel in Uttara, Dhaka, according to a press release issued on Sunday.
 
RAB informed that the arrests were made after the group impeded law enforcement efforts and instigated a mob at the scene. Those arrested include Sazzad Hossain, Shafik Molla, Ariful Islam, Tanmoy Hossain Shawon, Robiul Islam, Anwar Hossain Ashik, Saiful Islam Sagar, Jalal Khan, and Md. Amir.
 
According to the RAB statement, around noon on Saturday, Shafik Molla led approximately 24 individuals on 10 motorcycles to forcibly seize control of Hotel Milina following a business dispute with the hotel owner, Anwar Hossain Ashik. A RAB intelligence officer captured images of the incident from a distance, prompting the mob to surround him and prevent further photography. On receiving information, RAB-1 and Uttara East Police intervened and dispersed the mob.
 
Officer-in-Charge Md. Golam Mostofa of Uttara East Police Station confirmed that a case has been filed against the suspects. They were brought before the court on Sunday and ordered to be remanded to custody after the hearing.
