Dhaka, Sep 19 (V7N) – In the past week, prices of several vegetables in the capital markets have increased, even though there is reportedly no shortage of supply.

A survey of various Dhaka markets on Friday found kankrol, patal, and bitter gourd selling at Tk 80 per kg, while cucumber, tomato, and carrot were priced between Tk 100 and Tk 120 per kg.

Prices of beef and mutton have remained unchanged compared to last week. However, the cost of poultry has risen, with golden chicken now at Tk 280 per kg and boiler chicken at Tk 170 per kg, up Tk 10 per kg from last week.

Shoppers expressed concern over the rising costs, urging stronger government oversight to stabilize the prices of daily necessities and vegetables.
