Dhaka, Dec 18 (V7N) — The physical condition of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inquilab Mancha and a potential candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, remains extremely critical as he continues to receive treatment at Singapore General Hospital.

According to an official Facebook post of the Chief Adviser on Wednesday, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has urged the nation to remain calm and requested prayers for Hadi’s recovery.

The statement said Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan visited the hospital earlier in the day to inquire about Hadi’s treatment. Later, at around 9:40 pm, Dr. Balakrishnan called Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and briefed him on Hadi’s current condition and ongoing medical procedures.

During the phone call, Dr. Balakrishnan informed that Hadi’s condition is extremely critical and that doctors are making every possible effort to provide the highest level of medical care.

Meanwhile, Professor Muhammad Yunus again called on people across the country to maintain calm and to pray for the speedy recovery of Sharif Osman Hadi.

It may be recalled that on Friday, December 12, at around 2:30 pm, Sharif Osman Hadi was shot by motorcycle-borne assailants while he was traveling in a battery-powered rickshaw on Box Culvert Road in Old Paltan. He was initially admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later transferred to Evercare Hospital. From there, he was flown to Singapore for advanced treatment and is currently undergoing care at Singapore General Hospital.
