Dhaka, June 22 (V7N)— Bangladesh has voiced deep concern over recent attacks on nuclear facilities in Iran, warning that such actions could dangerously destabilize the already fragile Middle East.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the incidents risk undermining regional security and escalating tensions that could threaten global peace. “Such developments risk further destabilizing an already fragile regional situation,” the statement read.
Dhaka urged the United Nations and the broader international community to take a more active role in preventing further escalation and promoting diplomacy. The call comes amid growing anxiety over rising tensions involving Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
“Bangladesh reiterates its longstanding position in favor of peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy,” the ministry said, emphasizing the need for negotiation over confrontation. It also called on all parties involved to exercise “maximum restraint.”
The government reaffirmed its commitment to principles of mutual respect and international law, saying that only constructive engagement can bring lasting peace to the region. The statement echoed Bangladesh’s historical foreign policy of non-interference and peaceful conflict resolution.
Bangladesh’s remarks follow global concern about potential retaliation and rising hostilities in the region, as speculation mounts over who may be responsible for the attacks. The country’s appeal adds to growing calls for calm amid a volatile geopolitical climate.
