CHATTOGRAM, March 28 (V7N) –  A fire that broke out in a cold storage of BD Foods factory in the Sagarika area of Chattogram city was brought under control by firefighters after about one and a half hours today.  

The blaze started at 11:40 am in cold storage number three of the facility. Eight fire service units quickly responded and contained the fire by 1:22 pm, said Fire Service Deputy Director Md. Jasim Uddin.  

He said the cause of the fire is still unknown and the extent of damage will be assessed after investigation. Authorities are also checking if any workers were trapped inside during the incident.  

The official noted that over 2,000 tons of fish are currently stored in the cold storage. Alongside firefighting efforts, measures were taken to regulate the temperature inside the unit.  

Firefighters carried out three key actions: clearing out fish cartons, eliminating smoke, and lowering the cold storage temperature.
