Ukhiya, Nov 09 (V7N) — A young Rohingya man was killed and another critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Ajaya, 22, son of Yunus, a clothing trader from Kutupalong Registered Rohingya Camp.

According to local sources, Ajaya was heading toward the TV Tower area from Ukhiya Sadar when he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a roadside tree near the TV Tower area. Locals rushed to the spot and took the injured to the MSF hospital, where doctors declared Ajaya dead upon arrival.

Another youth who was riding with him sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the MSF hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya Police Station, Ziaul Haque, confirmed the incident, saying police visited the site after receiving the report. The body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy, and necessary legal procedures are underway before handing it over to the family.
