Manama, Mar 09 (V7N) – Bapco Energy, Bahrain’s primary oil refinery, has come under attack, prompting the company to declare force majeure.
The term force majeure indicates that the company cannot be held liable for failing to meet supply obligations due to circumstances beyond its control.
According to Reuters, eyewitnesses reported seeing plumes of smoke rising from the refinery shortly after the government confirmed casualties and damage in the Iranian drone attack in the Sitra area.
This attack adds to ongoing concerns about oil supply security in the region amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
