Tehran, June 23 (V7N) — Massive protests have erupted across Iran following the recent US airstrikes on the country’s nuclear facilities, with Iranian President Masoud Pajhwok himself joining demonstrators on the streets of Tehran. The protests have intensified Iran’s growing fury over foreign intervention.

According to Al Jazeera, thousands of Iranians gathered in key locations of the capital from Sunday (June 22) morning, chanting slogans of “Revenge! Revenge!” as they marched through the streets. Protesters waved national flags and raised clenched fists in defiance, demanding retaliation for the attacks.

Major protest sites included Azadi Square, Ferdowsi Square, the Imam Khomeini Mosque, and areas in front of the Iranian Parliament. Iranian state television and local media broadcast live footage of the demonstrations, showing large crowds unified in anger against the United States.

This surge of public anger follows escalating tensions in the region. On June 13, Israel launched an airstrike on Iranian military facilities, sparking a series of retaliatory missile attacks by Iran. The situation escalated further when the United States launched “Operation Midnight Hammer” on Saturday night (June 21), targeting Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities.

Protests erupted nationwide shortly after the US strikes, marking one of the largest anti-American demonstrations in Iran in recent years.

As global concern mounts, observers are watching closely to see how Iran responds both diplomatically and militarily to this escalation.
