Washington, June 22 (V7N) – Inter Milan came from behind to claim victory in their second Group E match of the FIFA Club World Cup, defeating Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds 2-1 at Lumen Field in Washington.
The Italian giants faced an early shock when Urawa took the lead in the 11th minute. Watanabe’s shot, from a Kaneko cross, deflected off an Inter defender and found the back of the net, putting the Japanese club 1-0 ahead at halftime.
Inter pressed relentlessly in the second half but struggled to break through Urawa’s defense until the 78th minute, when Lautaro Martinez tapped in a rebound from a corner to level the score.
The decisive moment came in stoppage time as Carboni netted the winner, completing the comeback and securing all three points for Inter Milan.
With this result, Inter climbed to second in the Group E standings with 4 points from a win and a draw. Meanwhile, Urawa Red Diamonds remain bottom of the table after suffering their second consecutive defeat.
