DHAKA, August 4, (V7N) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is guided by a dream that is supported by pragmatic ideas to advance the country’s politics, economy, and other fields of development.
“The path that our leader Tarique Rahman is showing, the thoughts he is expressing and highlighting his dreams about the economy and politics, remind me of Martin Luther King's historic words, ‘I have a dream’,” Alamgir said. He added, “Tarique Rahman has also a dream. We will move forward with that dream and we will win.”

The BNP secretary general made these remarks at a discussion organized by the BNP's youth front, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal. The event, held at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium, marked the first anniversary of the July Uprising.
Speaking at the discussion titled "Anti-Fascist Movement: My Unspoken Words," Alamgir remarked on what he perceived as a recurring pattern in the country's history. He wondered if it was a coincidence that whenever the country and its economy are in a state of disarray, the responsibility for rebuilding them falls on the BNP. “Today, perhaps BNP will have to take that responsibility again. This challenge must be faced,” he stated.

Alamgir also expressed concern that a conspiracy is currently being hatched to create instability and impede the country's transition toward democracy. He asserted that "As long as BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal survive, no force will be able to destroy democracy," and he highlighted the various successes of previous BNP-led governments, particularly during the era of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. He concluded by urging everyone to work with determination to move the country forward.
