Rangamati, July 21 (V7N) – The district unit of the Sramik Dal organized a protest rally and demonstration to condemn the worsening law and order situation across the country under the interim government and to protest the recent insults directed at Tarique Rahman.
On Monday morning, the Sramik Dal activists gathered in front of the district BNP office and marched through the main streets of Rangamati city. The rally concluded with a protest assembly in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.
The event was presided over by Momtaz Mia, President of the District Sramik Dal, with Kabirul Islam serving as the master of ceremonies. The central BNP's Deputy Secretary for Religious Affairs, Advocate Dipen Dewan, attended as the chief guest.
Speakers at the rally included Saiful Islam Chowdhury Bhutto, Vice President of the District BNP; Advocate Saiful Islam Ponir; Abu Sadat Md. Sayem, General Secretary of the District Jubo Dal; and Robiul Hossain Bablu, General Secretary of the District Krishok Dal. Members from various Sramik Dal units also participated in the demonstration.
In his address, Advocate Dipen Dewan warned the audience to remain vigilant. He strongly condemned the derogatory remarks made recently by a newly formed group against national leader Tarique Rahman and standing committee member Salauddin Ahmed. He expressed his inability to find words strong enough to protest these insults.
He emphasized the principles of democratic political conduct and highlighted the current deviation from those norms. Dewan urged the BNP to move forward resolutely, resist all conspiracies, and ensure that Tarique Rahman is empowered to lead the nation.
