Panchagarh, July 4 (V7N) — The Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) has reiterated its commitment to equitable development across Bangladesh, vowing to end Dhaka-centric policies and eliminate regional disparities.
On the fourth day of the ‘July Padyatra to Build the Country’, NCP Convener Nahid Islam addressed a road meeting in Thakurgaon on Friday, stating, “This Bangladesh is no longer Hasina’s Bangladesh. Only pro-Bangladesh people will lead this country.”
He emphasized that the farming community of Thakurgaon remains neglected and pledged that the NCP would work alongside locals for the region’s development.
Following the meeting, the NCP leaders offered Friday prayers at Thakurgaon District Model Mosque, concluding the day’s activities with a march and rally in Dinajpur.
Later in the day, while inaugurating the new NCP office at Atwari Bazar in Panchagarh’s Atwari upazila, Nahid launched a sharp attack on the former government. He said, “Some people in a party became rich and oppressive by looting—today they have fled the country, leaving their leaders and activists in danger. Such people cannot be the leaders of any party.”
Calling for unity against oppression, Nahid added, “Those who created tyranny and fascism in Bangladesh have become owners of all wealth. We must fight against this landlord system and ensure no new oppressor or extortionist emerges through mass uprising. We must raise our voices against them.”
Prominent NCP leaders, including Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer for the northern region, and Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Organizer for the southern region, were present at the events.
