Dhaka, July 21, (V7N) – Digital facilities will be brought under the newly established Citizen Service Centers to ensure accessible and hassle-free public services, said Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

He made the announcement after inaugurating and inspecting the Citizen Service Center at Ward No. 18 in Nilkhet, Dhaka, on Sunday evening.

Tayyab stated that these centers will provide a range of essential services including citizenship certificates, inheritance certificates, trade licenses, national identity card corrections, and birth registration corrections. The centers will be operated by trained entrepreneurs who will offer on-the-spot support to citizens.

He added, “Citizen Service Centers are a key part of building a Digital Bangladesh. These centers will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life by simplifying access to both government and private services.”

It is notable that Citizen Service Centers have already been launched in Gulshan, Uttara, and Nilkhet, offering a total of 81 services under one roof.

Previously, in 2010, the ousted Awami League government had launched Union Digital Centers (UDCs) nationwide as part of the A2i initiative.
