Pabna, Feb 5, (V7N) – Hasan Jafir Tuhin, the BNP-nominated candidate for Pabna-3 (Chatmohar, Bhangura, Faridpur), has asserted that 80 percent of voters in the constituency are in favor of the party’s electoral symbol, the paddy sheaf.

Speaking to journalists in Chatmohar on Thursday, Tuhin described the electoral environment as “fair and peaceful” and urged all candidates to respect the election code of conduct to maintain this atmosphere until voting day. He emphasized BNP’s commitment to ensuring a participatory election.

Tuhin, an agriculture expert, also criticized the government, alleging widespread persecution of BNP leaders and activists over the past 17 years. He referenced the 2024 mass uprising, claiming it cost 2,000 lives, and accused authorities of targeting BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia with false charges.

Outlining his vision if elected, Tuhin pledged a master plan for the Chalanbil region, focusing on agricultural development, river and canal restoration, infrastructure building, and employment opportunities. “Chalanbil will be made a separate hub where all necessary initiatives will be implemented after consultation,” he said.

The meeting at his residence in Bothar village was attended by local BNP leaders and members of the election management committee, including Advocate Arifa Sultana Ruma, Nur Mujahid Swapan, and Zahurul Islam Bakul.
