Jhalokathi, Nov 09 (V7N) — Leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Labour Party conducted an extensive day-long election campaign across various villages and marketplaces in Kathalia upazila’s Shaulajalia Union on Saturday, promoting party candidate Mostafizur Rahman Iran for the Jhalokathi-1 constituency.
Under the leadership of Youth Mission Convener Salman Khan Badsha, campaigners distributed leaflets highlighting the party’s 31-point reform agenda titled “State Repair Plan” and urged voters to support the candidate under the pineapple symbol.
Speaking during the campaign, Salman Khan Badsha described Mostafizur Rahman Iran as a tested leader who has endured political persecution and imprisonment five times during what he termed “the era of Awami fascism.” He added that Dr. Iran survived several violent attacks by political opponents and continues to face harassment through false cases.
He emphasized that Iran is the only honest, courageous, and qualified candidate for the Jhalokathi-1 seat. “If Dr. Iran wins, we will eliminate political vengeance, extortion, false cases, and drugs from the area,” Badsha declared, urging residents to vote for the pineapple symbol to ensure progress, productivity, and prosperity.
The campaigners also remembered the sacrifices of two activists from the Labour Party and Chhatra Mission who were martyred during the July uprising, pledging to uphold their ideals through a free and fair democratic process.
