Pabna, Nov 04 (V7N) — With firm determination and unity, BNP’s nominated candidate for Pabna-3 constituency (Chatmohar-Bhangura-Faridpur), agriculturist Hasan Zafir Tuhin, has vowed to secure victory for the “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol in the upcoming national election. He also pledged to ensure good governance and inclusive development if elected.
On Monday night, at his residence in Bothar village under Chatmohar upazila, Hasan Zafir Tuhin — who is also the central president of the Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal — expressed his gratitude to Allah Almighty for his nomination during a press conference arranged to celebrate the occasion.
Tuhin paid deep respect to the late President and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, while extending heartfelt thanks to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for their trust and confidence in him.
He said, “We want to contest the election peacefully, guided by the advice of senior leaders from Chatmohar, Bhangura, and Faridpur upazilas. Pabna-3 is one of the most neglected constituencies in the country, inhabited by peace-loving people. I aim to work with everyone’s cooperation to uphold democratic values and ensure a fair election.”
Criticizing the previous government for depriving citizens of their voting rights, Tuhin said, “People are eagerly waiting to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming election after many years. I urge all voters in Pabna-3 to vote for the Sheaf of Paddy.”
He added that senior BNP leaders had instructed all nomination aspirants to maintain unity and work together for the party’s success. “I will personally visit the homes of senior leaders across the three upazilas to seek their support for our symbol. Election committees will be formed in every upazila, union, and polling center to ensure smooth coordination,” he announced.
Calling upon journalists for responsible reporting, Tuhin said, “I request you to love your area and report with care. Avoid false news that may disrupt the election environment. We will conduct the campaign following the electoral code of conduct, and if any violation occurs, you must act responsibly. Soon, I will unveil the election manifesto for the three upazilas.”
Responding to questions, Hasan Zafir Tuhin outlined his development priorities, saying, “My first focus will be improving the communication network across Pabna-3. Alongside this, I plan to develop the livestock, dairy, poultry, and fisheries sectors, while promoting agricultural industries to strengthen the local economy.”
The event was attended by Advocate Arifa Sultana Ruma, member of the Dhaka South BNP Convening Committee; former BNP leaders from Faridpur upazila including Jahurul Islam Baku, Abdul Hakim, and Principal Abdul Dayen Manju; BNP leaders Rafiqul Islam, Enamul Haque; Tuhin’s wife Nilufa Zafir; Chatmohar Municipal BNP President Asaduzzaman Arshad; former Organizing Secretary Principal Abdur Rahim Kalu; former Joint Convenor Principal Mahmudul Alam Mahmud; Rabiul Karim Tarek; former Municipal BNP President A.M.
