DHAKA, Nov 12 (V7N) — The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Detective Branch) has arrested five suspects, including the two shooters involved in the murder of notorious criminal Mamun in Old Dhaka, officials confirmed in a statement late Tuesday night. Two pistols used in the attack have been recovered. The identities of the arrested individuals have not yet been disclosed.

Mamun was shot dead on Monday in front of the National Medical Institute Hospital in Old Dhaka. Reports indicate that he was leaving the hospital after appearing for a court hearing when the attack occurred.

CCTV footage shows Mamun running into the hospital premises while two masked individuals fired several rounds at him from behind. The assailants then fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The police have initiated further investigations to uncover the motive behind the killing and identify any additional accomplices.
