Dhaka, Mar 16 (V7N) – The Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, met with Finance Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir at the Secretariat on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation and ongoing development projects between the two countries.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Pranay Verma said that discussions focused on strengthening the existing economic and energy cooperation between Bangladesh and India.
He noted that the two neighboring countries already have cross-border power and energy connections, and both sides exchanged views on ways to further expand this cooperation. According to him, such connectivity can play a significant role in building stronger economic relations between the two countries in both the short and long term.
The High Commissioner also said that several ongoing bilateral projects, particularly those related to the economic and energy sectors, were discussed during the meeting.
In addition, both sides talked about future areas of cooperation and ways to deepen ties between the two countries.
“No decision has been made on this matter yet. If a decision is made, it will be announced,” he added.
