Rooppur, Nov 06 (V7N)- A fire that broke out in an abandoned wood pile at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has been successfully brought under control, authorities confirmed on Thursday (November 6).
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the fire started at around 12:32 pm. Upon receiving the alert, the nearest fire unit, located just 300 yards away, arrived within a minute.
A total of eight fire service units from Rooppur Modern, Green City, Rooppur Temporary, and Ishwardi Fire Stations worked together to control the blaze. The fire was fully brought under control by around 1:15 am.
No casualties have been reported so far, and the fire service continues to monitor the area to prevent any flare-ups.
