Dhaka, Aug 11 (V7N) – Education Advisor Professor Dr. C. R. Abrar has hailed the TVET Implementation Plan 2025–2030 as a major milestone for Bangladesh, describing it as a roadmap to transform the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector into a global-standard, forward-looking workforce development system.
He made the remarks on Sunday (August 10) at the inauguration of the plan, jointly organized by the Directorate of Technical Education, the Technical and Madrasa Education Division, and the Ministry of Education, at a five-star hotel in Dhaka.
Dr. Abrar emphasized the growing demand for TVET graduates, particularly in the service sector, and stressed the urgent need to equip the country’s youth with world-class, industry-relevant skills.
The Directorate of Technical Education formulated the plan after nearly two years of nationwide consultations, making it the first fully budget-based national roadmap for TVET in Bangladesh. It will be implemented with support from the European Union-funded HCDP-21 Budget Support Program.
The plan outlines 87 strategic actions under six key result areas, focusing on:
-
Training quality and relevance
-
Increased access to TVET opportunities
-
Stronger systems and institutional capacity
-
Sustainable financing
-
Enhanced industry-academic linkages
Officials hope the initiative will significantly boost Bangladesh’s ability to meet domestic and global labor market demands.
