Nepal, Sept 10 (V7N) – In a significant development in Nepal, over 700 inmates escaped from prisons in the western region amidst ongoing violent protests. On Tuesday afternoon, members of the JG (Jai Gorkha) movement breached the Kaski District Jail, leading to the escape of 773 prisoners. The Kaski District Police confirmed the incident, highlighting the scale of the jailbreak.

The JG movement, advocating for regional autonomy and rights, has been at the forefront of the current unrest. Their actions have intensified following the government's recent decisions, including the controversial social media ban. The protests have escalated into violent confrontations, with demonstrators storming government buildings and clashing with security forces.

In response to the prison break, authorities have initiated a manhunt to recapture the escaped inmates. Security measures have been heightened across the region, and additional forces have been deployed to maintain order. The government has also called for dialogue with the protesting groups to address their grievances and restore peace.

This incident marks one of the largest prison breaks in Nepal's history, underscoring the growing tensions and challenges facing the nation amid the ongoing protests.
