Washington, Sep 22 (V7N)- The White House has launched a 24-hour streaming channel called “TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station” amid an escalating dispute between US President Donald Trump’s administration and several major news organizations.

The White House announced on X that the channel was now broadcasting live. It operates through the White House’s YouTube channel and features administration announcements, presidential speeches and archival footage.

The launch came days after Trump barred journalists from CNN, Politico and MS NOW from accessing the White House. Trump accused the outlets of publishing what he described as “fake news” and criticized their coverage of his administration.

On Saturday (September 19), journalists from the three organizations were denied entry to the White House grounds, while some reporters had their press credentials confiscated. CNN correspondent Betsy Klein was among those affected.

The dispute escalated on Monday (September 21), when CNN, MS NOW and Politico filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration in federal court in Washington, DC. The outlets are seeking the restoration of their White House access.

In a joint statement, the three organizations said their credentials were revoked without notice or due process because of objections to their reporting. They argued that the government should not determine what news organizations can report or publish.

The lawsuit alleges violations of First Amendment press rights and Fifth Amendment due-process protections. The organizations have also requested an expedited hearing and an order restoring their access to the White House.

The White House has defended the restrictions. Trump has described the affected outlets as “fake news,” while Vice President JD Vance said the administration was withholding special access rather than preventing the organizations from reporting on the president.

The dispute has also affected the White House television press pool. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News and CNN normally share responsibility for providing video coverage of presidential events, but the remaining networks announced a suspension of pool coverage following CNN’s exclusion.

The launch of Trump TV gives the White House a direct digital platform for distributing presidential speeches, administration announcements and other official video as the legal dispute over press access continues.
