Hyderabad, July 1 (V7N) — The death toll from the massive explosion at a chemical factory in Hyderabad, Telangana, has risen to at least 35, with many others critically injured, according to local authorities.

The blast occurred on Monday morning (June 30) at Sigachi Chemicals. The explosion triggered a fire that quickly engulfed various sections of the factory.

Rescue operations are ongoing, with over 200 personnel working tirelessly at the site. Officials said several workers are still feared trapped under the debris. At least 90 people were inside the factory when the explosion took place.

Rescue teams managed to recover 31 bodies from the rubble. Several other victims succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment in hospitals.

The fire service and security forces responded swiftly and managed to bring the fire under control after several hours. An official investigation is underway to determine the cause of the explosion.
