Colombo, June 25 (V7N) – Bangladesh began their innings cautiously in the second and final Test against Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

At the end of 4 overs, Bangladesh posted 5 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. Enamul Haque Bijoy, who was given a couple of lifelines after being dropped at slip twice, was eventually bowled, continuing his struggle at the top of the order.

The Tigers made two changes to their playing XI. Mehedi Hasan Miraj returned to the Test squad after recovering from illness, adding depth to both the spin and batting departments. Ibadat Hossain, who last played a Test match in June 2023 against Afghanistan, replaced the injured Hasan Mahmud and returned to the longest format after a two-year absence.

Sri Lanka, too, made a change to their lineup, handing a debut to Sonal Dinusha, who received his Test cap from vice-captain Kusal Mendis.

With the series on the line, both teams are looking to finish strong. Sri Lanka currently leads the two-match series 1–0.
