Dhaka, Sep 22 (V7N) – Ganadhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur has left Dhaka for Singapore to receive advanced medical treatment following injuries sustained in last month’s political clash.

Nur departed on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday morning. He will undergo treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore, with doctors estimating a recovery period of 4 to 6 weeks.

Party spokesperson Faruk Hasan told reporters that Nur initially preferred to continue his treatment in Bangladesh, placing trust in the country’s healthcare system. However, a medical board later advised that specialized treatment abroad was necessary.

Hasan also held the government responsible for the August 29 attack on Nur, expressing frustration that no legal action has been taken against those involved.

On that night, a violent clash erupted in Bijoy Nagar, Dhaka, between activists of the Jatiya Party (JPA) and the Ganadhikar Parishad. Law enforcement intervened with lathicharge, leaving at least 50 people injured, including Nur and General Secretary Rashed Khan.

Nur was initially admitted to Islami Bank Hospital in critical condition before being shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he underwent 18 days of treatment. He was discharged last week before traveling abroad for further care.
