Dhaka, Aug 19 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that organized mobs are being used to obstruct Chhatra Dal leaders from collecting nomination papers for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections.

Speaking at a tribute ceremony marking the founding anniversary of the Volunteer Party on Tuesday morning, Rizvi claimed that similar mobs are being “illegally formed” across the country to influence the electoral process.

He urged the interim government to ensure an environment where voters can reach polling centers without fear or obstruction. “The nation is waiting for the electoral roadmap,” he said, emphasizing that polling stations set up “for political reasons” should be canceled and replaced with voter-friendly centers. Rizvi alleged that many of the centers established during the previous “fascism era” were designed for manipulation.

The allegations follow an incident on Sunday, when a Chhatra Dal leader was reportedly prevented from collecting nomination forms at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall. The student group claimed that a mob was formed at the hall and that one of its leaders was detained.
