Dhaka, Aug 13 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has cautioned that the upcoming national election cannot be derailed through intimidation or threats.
Speaking to reporters after placing wreaths at the grave of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman at Zia Udyan on Wednesday morning, Dr. Zahid was accompanied by newly elected leaders of Doctors’ Association of Bangladesh (DAB).
He criticized recent remarks suggesting that the election might not take place, saying, “The footsteps of tyranny can be heard through such statements. Those seeking to obstruct the polls by issuing threats are not thinking about the people.”
Dr. Zahid also noted that the fall of the Awami League government was not the result of a single group’s agitation, but rather the united movement of students and the general public.
