Dhaka, July 20, (V7N) – Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, following his recent illness during a rally in the capital.

In a Facebook post from his verified account on Sunday (July 20), Dr. Shafiqur Rahman wrote, “After I fell ill at the Suhrawardy Udyan meeting yesterday, the Chief Advisor inquired about my physical condition and also sent his press secretary to the hospital. I express my sincere gratitude and thanks. His sympathy will be memorable.”

In another post, the Jamaat leader extended thanks to several national and international political figures who expressed concern and prayed for his recovery. Among them were BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moin Khan.

The Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, also visited the hospital to check on the Jamaat leader’s condition.

Dr. Rahman further acknowledged inquiries and well-wishes from leaders of various Islamic and nationalist parties, including Islamic Movement Secretary General Maulana Yunus Ahmed, Khilafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Abdul Basit Azad, Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Abdul Quader, as well as representatives of Khilafat Movement, the National Citizens Party (NCP), and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.

The Jamaat Ameer collapsed briefly on stage while delivering a speech during the party’s national rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Saturday. Though he quickly recovered and completed his address, he was later taken to a hospital for medical attention.
