DHAKA, Mar 28 (V7N) – All academic activities at Dhaka University (DU), including scheduled classes and examinations, are set to resume tomorrow, Sunday, March 29, following the conclusion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
While administrative and official activities at the university have been operational since March 24, tomorrow marks the full return of the student body to the campus for the spring semester.
Official Clarification on Social Media Rumors
In a press release issued today, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Director of the University's Public Relations Department, addressed "false and baseless" rumors circulating on social media platforms suggesting that the university would remain closed from March 29.
-
The Refutal: The university administration has categorically denied these claims, stating that no such decision has been made.
-
Advisory: Students, faculty, and staff are urged not to be misled by unverified information and to rely solely on official university communication.
Campus Preparations
The reopening comes at a time of heightened activity across the capital. University authorities have coordinated with the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to ensure security around the TSC, Curzon Hall, and residential halls as thousands of students return from their hometowns.
-
Transport: The university's "Blue Bus" and "Red Bus" services will resume their full routes starting tomorrow morning to facilitate student commutes.
-
Exam Schedules: Departments have confirmed that all mid-term and final examinations previously scheduled for March 29 will proceed as planned.
Context: Post-Eid Transition
The resumption of DU coincides with the broader return to normalcy in Dhaka following the extended Eid break. While the city is currently navigating a fuel supply crisis, the university administration has not indicated any disruption to its internal logistics or transport services.
