Chittagong, Aug 7 (V7N) – A connecting bridge in the Oxygen area of Chittagong city collapsed around 6 a.m. on Thursday (August 7), causing significant traffic disruption on Bayezid Bostami Road.

Following the collapse, one side of the road has been completely closed to traffic, while vehicles are cautiously moving on the other side at reduced speeds. Authorities have placed red tape around the affected area to prevent further damage or accidents.

Bayezid Police Station Sub-Inspector Shamshul Alam confirmed that a police patrol team is actively monitoring the site to ensure safety and prevent any mishaps.

This section of Bayezid Bostami Road is a vital artery of the city, housing numerous industrial establishments, garment factories, and educational institutions, underscoring the urgency of repair and restoration efforts.
