Dhaka, Aug 12 (V7N)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is preparing to request an extension of the Interpol Red Notice against convicted money launderer Prashant Kumar Halder (PK Halder) for an additional five years.

According to ACC sources, the current five-year Red Notice will expire next December, prompting the commission to take steps to prolong its validity.

On July 5, Interpol sent a letter to the ACC via the police headquarters, asking Bangladesh to confirm whether it wishes to withdraw or extend the notice in light of the impending expiry. The ACC is responding by seeking an extension.

PK Halder, currently imprisoned in India, has been sentenced to 22 years in jail by a Bangladeshi court in one case. Meanwhile, over fifty other cases and investigations remain ongoing against him at the ACC.
