Rangpur, July 22, (V7N) – The International Crimes Tribunal-2 has scheduled the hearing for framing charges in the Abu Sayeed murder case for July 28 in Rangpur.

The tribunal has declared 24 people absconding, including the former Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, and has directed the state to appoint lawyers for the absconding accused.

On Tuesday morning, six accused, including former Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police Amir Hossain and former constable Sujan Chandra Roy, were produced before the Tribunal-2. The court ordered the arrest of the 24 absconding individuals and instructed that a notice be published in newspapers urging them to present themselves before the court ahead of the framing of formal charges.

Out of the 30 accused in the case, four are currently in jail: former proctor of Begum Rokeya University Shariful Islam, former ASI Amir Hossain, former constable Sujan Chandra Roy, and Imran Chowdhury alias Akash, a leader of the banned student organization Chhatra League. Additionally, two other accused are in jail in connection with other cases.
