Dhaka, July 06 (V7N) – The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for turbulent sea and coastal conditions due to active monsoon winds affecting the North Bay of Bengal. Consequently, four major seaports—Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra—have been instructed to display local warning signal number 3.
In a special advisory released Sunday morning, the Meteorological Office explained that variations in air pressure over the North Bay of Bengal may cause gusty or stormy winds over the sea, coastal areas, and seaports.
Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay of Bengal have been advised to remain close to the coast and exercise caution until further notice.
Additionally, a weather alert has been issued for inland river ports in Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, and Cox’s Bazar regions. These river ports are asked to display warning signal number 1, with forecasts warning of gusty winds accompanied by rain.
