Dhaka, Aug 14 (V7N) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a complete ban on flying lanterns in the capital city for one day.

The notice, signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali on Thursday, states that under Section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), lantern flying is prohibited in all areas of Dhaka from 11:00 pm on August 14 to 12:00 am on August 15.

The DMP has urged city residents to comply with the instructions to ensure public safety.
