Dhaka, Aug 19 (V7N) – A six-member European Union (EU) delegation, led by EU Ambassador Michael Miller, held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin on Tuesday morning to discuss preparations for Bangladesh’s 13th parliamentary elections.

The meeting began at around 11 am at the Election Commission headquarters in Dhaka. According to sources, the delegation sought details on the commission’s readiness and inquired about possible areas where the EU could provide support.

The EU has held several rounds of talks with the Election Commission in recent months. In previous meetings, EU officials emphasized that they expect Bangladesh to ensure an election that meets international standards. They also reiterated their willingness to provide assistance aimed at making the polls free, fair, and credible.
