Dhaka, Aug 13 (V7N) – Finance Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed emphasized the interim government’s commitment to curbing the spread of black money ahead of the next national election, urging political parties to contribute to changing the culture of illicit wealth.

He made the remarks during the inauguration of the National Pension Authority’s ‘U Pension’ app at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.

Dr. Ahmed highlighted that the government aims to organize a fair and well-managed election in February, noting that the Finance Ministry is providing full support to the Home Ministry to ensure proper law and order.

He further stressed the importance of transforming Bangladesh into a welfare state and instructed authorities to investigate why people from various professions are not participating in the universal pension scheme. Plans will also be made to include government employees and university teachers in the program, and measures will be taken to correct any existing errors. The Finance Advisor emphasized broader publicity to increase awareness about the universal pension initiative.
