Kuala Lumpur, Aug 13 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
The degree was conferred at a ceremony held on Wednesday morning at the UKM campus. In his commemorative address to the students, Professor Yunus reflected on the youth-led mass uprising in July–August 2024, saying it had brought “new meaning to the hope for the future of Bangladesh.”
He reiterated that the interim government is working to ensure a free, fair, and transparent national election in February 2026, enabling the transfer of power to the true representatives of the people.
“The government is committed to peace and stability, with reform and the formation of a new Bangladesh as its main goals,” Yunus said.
