Dhaka, Aug 01 (V7N) – The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Friday morning the formation of a court of inquiry against an army officer accused of political affiliation.
According to the press release, the officer was arrested from his residence on July 17 and taken into military custody. The preliminary investigation has found grounds supporting the allegations. Consequently, an inquiry court has been established to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the matter. Based on the inquiry’s findings and evidence, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken according to the prevailing laws and regulations of the army.
The ISPR also stated that a separate court of inquiry has been formed to investigate the officer’s unauthorized absence from duty. Actions will be taken following the court’s recommendations as per military law.
The officer in question, Major Sadiq, was recently accused of training Awami League workers, leading to his custody by the army.
