Dhaka, July 25 (V7N) – The model for constructing a new building for the historic Dhaka Collegiate School, which has upheld a proud legacy for 190 years, has been sent to the Education Advisor, according to Finance Advisor Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed.
He made this announcement during the school’s 190th anniversary celebration held on Friday morning.
While addressing the event, Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed, himself an alumnus of Dhaka Collegiate School, expressed regret over the demolition of the school’s original structure, saying it should have been preserved as a heritage building.
“The building could have been saved as part of our history, but now there is nothing more to do except to move forward,” he said, adding that efforts are underway to implement the construction of a new facility.
The Finance Advisor also reflected on his time as a student at the institution and paid tribute to the victims of the Milestone plane crash, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
The day-long program was attended by a large number of former and current students, celebrating one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Bangladesh.
