Dhaka, June 24 (V7N) — Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali has firmly stated that no kind of mob justice will be tolerated in the capital. He warned that anyone involved in such activities will be brought to justice through legal proceedings.

The DMP Commissioner made these remarks while speaking to journalists after an event at the DMP headquarters on Tuesday (June 24).

He further said, “If any police personnel is found negligent in preventing mob violence, strict action will be taken against them as well.”

Referring to the recent incident involving the former Chief Election Commissioner, he confirmed that a case has already been filed and one person has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Addressing the issue of political movements, Commissioner Sajjat Ali said that road blockades cannot be used to enforce demands, as they cause suffering to the public. “Discussions will be held with representatives of political parties to ensure that no one disrupts public life by blocking roads,” he added.

Additionally, the DMP chief emphasized that strict action will be taken against extortionists operating in the city.
