Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N) – Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha, brother of Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mughdh, a prominent figure martyred during Bangladesh’s July mass uprising, and Deputy Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts, has formally joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the party confirmed on Tuesday.

Snigdha submitted his BNP membership form on the evening of November 4, 2025, at the party’s Gulshan political office in Dhaka. The ceremony was attended virtually by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, signaling the strategic importance of the event for the party’s leadership.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by several senior BNP leaders, including National Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, former Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Convener Aminul Haque, and Snigdha’s father, Mostafizur Rahman. The party’s press wing highlighted Snigdha’s induction as a significant addition, emphasizing both his personal credentials and his family’s historical contribution to political activism in Bangladesh.

Party officials noted that Snigdha’s joining reinforces BNP’s outreach among civic organizations and youth leadership, reflecting a continued effort to strengthen the party ahead of upcoming political developments. His role as Deputy Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts underscores his experience in organizational leadership, community engagement, and national service.

Shamsuddin Didar, Press Officer of the BNP Chairman’s Office, stated that Snigdha’s induction represents “a meaningful continuation of his family’s legacy in Bangladesh’s political landscape,” and that the party looks forward to his active participation in shaping future policies and political initiatives.
