Dhaka, Sept 10 (V7N) – Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Haider, met with Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, at the party chief’s office in the capital’s Bashundhara area on Tuesday.

According to a press release issued by Jamaat, the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Pakistan. Both sides expressed optimism that the fraternal ties between the two nations would strengthen further in the future.

The meeting was also attended by Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Amir Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, and the party chief’s foreign affairs adviser Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan. From the Pakistan High Commission, Political Counsellor Kamran Dhangal was present.

Diplomatic sources noted that such meetings, though relatively infrequent, underscore ongoing political and diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and segments of Bangladesh’s political spectrum. While details of the discussions were not disclosed beyond the press release, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral understanding.
