Dhaka, Sep 18 (V7N) – Badiul Alam Majumder, editor of Sujan – Citizens for Good Governance, has said that Bangladesh’s democratic process cannot be rebuilt unless corruption is rooted out from politics and elections.

He made the remarks on Thursday (September 18) afternoon while speaking at a program titled “Dialogue for Democratic Restructuring” at the CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka.

Majumder said that despite the presence of legal frameworks, corruption had marred the last three national elections. “The elections will not be fair unless corruption is eliminated,” he stressed.

He further argued that the stability of the state and the reconstruction of the democratic system depend on eradicating corruption and unethical practices in politics.
