Jhalokathi, Dec 21 (V7N) — A wave of grief has swept through Nalchiti upazila following the death of Osman Hadi, as his village home and the surrounding area remain overshadowed by mourning.

On Friday, local traders in Nalchiti upazila town voluntarily closed their shops from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm as a mark of respect and solidarity. During this period, business owners and workers observed silence, offered prayers seeking forgiveness for the departed soul, and expressed deep condolences to Osman Hadi’s bereaved family.

Residents said the shutdown was entirely voluntary and reflected the profound emotional connection people felt with Osman Hadi. Locals described him as a widely respected and popular July fighter, whose life and role left a lasting impact on the community.

People from different walks of life gathered informally throughout the town to share memories and express sorrow, stating that his death has caused widespread grief and sorrow across Nalchiti. Many emphasized that the mourning was not limited to his family alone, but extended to the entire community.
