Jhalokathi, Dec 21 (V7N) — A funeral prayer in absentia for Osman Hadi was held peacefully on Saturday after the Zuhr prayers at the Jhalokathi Eidgah ground, organized by members of the Tawhidi Muslim community.
The janazah was attended by a large number of people, including local residents, religious leaders, social activists, and representatives from various professions. During the prayer, worshippers sought forgiveness for the departed soul of Osman Hadi and expressed deep sympathy for his grieving family.
Following the funeral prayer, speakers briefly addressed the gathering, strongly condemning the recent incident surrounding Osman Hadi’s death. They called on the authorities to conduct a swift, fair, and transparent investigation and to bring all those responsible to justice without delay. The speakers warned that failure to ensure justice would only contribute to a rise in criminal activities and undermine public confidence in the rule of law.
They emphasized that exemplary punishment for the perpetrators is essential to prevent similar incidents in the future and to uphold social justice. The speakers also urged the government and law enforcement agencies to act responsibly to maintain peace and stability.
The janazah and subsequent prayer gathering concluded in a calm and orderly manner. Throughout the area, a somber atmosphere prevailed as attendees reflected on the loss and reiterated their demand for justice.
