Dhaka, Sept 25 (V7N) – Police have arrested former Narail-1 Member of Parliament Kabirul Haque Mukti from Niketan area in the capital on Wednesday night. Gulshan Police conducted the arrest, though the specific charges leading to his detention have not been disclosed.
The arrest was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Media and Public Relations Division. He stated that legal procedures are underway regarding the case against Mukti.
Kabirul Haque Mukti was elected to the Jatiya Sangsad as an Awami League candidate from Narail-1 in the 2008 Ninth, 2014 Tenth, 2018 Eleventh, and 2024 Twelfth National Parliamentary elections.
Sources indicate that Mukti is currently facing multiple legal cases, including charges under the Explosives Act.
