Dhaka, Feb 20 (V7N) — The government has revised the operating schedule of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations nationwide to ensure uninterrupted gas supply during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly to support electricity generation and increased demand during Iftar hours.
According to an official notification issued on Friday (February 20), the directive was signed by Muhammad Nazmul Haque, Deputy Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
Revised Schedule

From the first day of Ramadan to March 14, 2026:
CNG stations will remain closed from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily. -
March 15 to March 25, 2026 (Eid travel period):
CNG stations will operate 24 hours a day to facilitate increased travel. -
From March 26, 2026 onward:
Stations will revert to the previous schedule, remaining closed from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Purpose of the Decision
Officials said the move aims to balance gas distribution between the transport sector and power plants, ensuring stable electricity supply while meeting peak demand during Ramadan evenings.
The notification further noted that authorities will monitor the situation and make adjustments if necessary to maintain smooth energy supply across the country.
